Winter Solstice
First Class marked the Winter Solstice by spending some quiet time sitting in their playground with five burning candles. The five candles were representative of our five pods and we focused on the energy of each dancing flame. Having concentrated on the gift of light, we then all closed our eyes and spent a moment in darkness. We came to the conclusion that light and darkness complement each other and we can’t have one without the other. The darkness of night and winter affords us an opportunity to rest and recharge and we can be certain of each new dawn and the imminence of spring. To conclude our Solstice morning we each made a wish. The children decided that it would be unlucky to share theirs but Ms Conheady wishes that all the dreams of First Class come true….
