Third class have been working really hard on procedural writing in English. The children wrote instructions to a yard game of their choice. Three games were chosen by Mrs Foley to play for their PE lesson. Well done to Killian F., Eliza-Beth and Elliot who shared their instructions for their games to the class. The class also wrote a recipe for Rice Krispie Buns and thoroughly enjoyed making them on the last day of term.
Trip to Sligo Abbey
Third and Fourth class had a very enjoyable afternoon at Sligo Abbey. Harry, the tour guide, brought the students around the ruins, sharing some really interesting facts. Then, the students were challenged to a treasure hunt. A great day out for all.
Maths Week
We celebrated Maths week in Third class with lots of fun and educational activities. The students enjoyed a zoom call hosted by Steve Sherman on Maths Week TV. He introduced mathematical concepts and ideas through the use of stories and play. There were 218 other classes participating across the country. The children continued with their weekly Maths stations, introducing the Bee Bots. They completed a 2D maths trail in the school grounds and a maths trail along the Garavogue river.
