STEM in 6th Class
The pupils of 6th class engaged in STEM activities to get prepared for Science week. Pupils made Lego Spike creations and controlled them using Scratch coding with the iPads. Other pupils created Da Vinci bridges using lollipop sticks. This is a self supporting bridge which can cross large spans. Some pupils create electrical circuits, others made paper aeroplanes. Imaginative 3D geometric shapes were also made using manipulatives. Pupils also created 2D shapes with tangrams and finally, some pupils used compasses to make geometric shapes based on circles. A fun morning of learning and engaging with STEM was had by all.
Before the mid-term break, 6th also had a fun afternoon of maths using the IZAK 9 cubes. This is an extremely engaging and fun maths activity which challenges pupils to think in different ways about maths problems.
