FAI regional development officer John Russell and programme head coach Darragh Healy delivered “Show Racism the Red Card,” initiative to fifth and sixth class pupils. Students were actively engaged in activities which tackled racism and promoted integration in sport. After an interactive classroom based session, children took part in an inclusive coaching session with the main focus on developing the player’s soccer skills. Maximum participation, co-operation and enjoyment were the name of the game as students practised and perfected their ball control skills.
This initiative was co-ordinated by The FAI, Sligo Rovers, & Sligo/Leitrim Youths Primary Schools Programme.
