Reel Life Science Video
Over the last few weeks the pupils of 5th Class have been making a science video to enter the Reel Life Science video competition. This is a competition to encourage the use of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) into their lives. The pupils engage with science by learning about the energy and forces involved in water and compressed air powered rockets. Technology was covered in the programming of the Mars rovers using a programming language similar to SCRATCH and the use of iPads. Engineering tasks for example, designing and building rockets and Mars rover vehicles were completed by all pupils and lastly Maths problems like gearing ratios were discussed and used when designing which way to make the rover move. Have a look at the video and enjoy.
