Plastic Pollution
We are so proud of our wonderful Green School Committee for giving a fantastic presentation on plastic pollution to the whole school in assembly last week. They shared excellent and practical ways in which we can all help in reducing single use plastic in our daily life. Some of the tips included :
1) Use beeswax wrappers to wrap your sandwiches.
2) Use aluminum bottles instead of plastic bottles for your drinks.
3) Use bunting or flags for decorating instead of balloons.
4) Avoid the use of glitter in Art as it is made of tiny plastic particles which get into our waterways.
5) Use metal or bamboo straws instead of plastic straws.
6) Only use the laminator when absolutely necessary. Paper is better as it is biodegradable.
The committee members also gave a speech about healthy eating and gave us a great overview about the importance of having a balanced diet.
Overall it was a very informative and educational presentation and we look forward to working together to reduce plastic pollution in Carbury School. Thank you to the committee for their dedication and hard work.
