Our Ukrainian community in Carbury
Our Ukrainian community in Carbury have been working really hard at improving their English all throughout the year and settling into both school and Sligo. Today, they gave presentations to all classes about life in Ukraine before the war. They discussed general facts, shared photos of their beautiful country, told us what their traditional food and dress are like and gave examples of what there is to do in Ukraine. It was also interesting to see exactly where these children come from on Google maps and hear how school in Ukraine differs to Ireland. They ended their presentation with a short Ukrainian language lesson and sang their National Anthem. Well done to all involved, you did a fantastic job and we were delighted to learn more about Ukraine.
