First and Second Class Tour
The pupils and staff of First and Second Classes had a most enjoyable day on June 16th . Our tour began when we met Paddy, our bus driver, who brought us from The Mall to Eagles Flying.
We were greeted there by Ash and Jenny who introduced us to many feathered friends. We met a sea eagle with a most impressive wing span and a proud bald eagle who is the symbol of all things great and American. The peacock displayed his beautiful tail feathers as we moved on to meet and pet the ferrets. Once we had taken our seats the display began. We were entertained by kestrels and hawks and a beautiful barn owl. The children participated in the display and offered their protected arms as landing perches for our feathered friends.
After we had lunch we ventured to the shed where mice, rabbits, goats and ponies were housed. A very noisy macaw screeched for our attention.
Paddy drove us through the town of Ballymote and towards the caves of Keash. Here, we discovered a playground and enjoyed all the equipment it had to offer.
Our return journey to The Mall was a lot quieter than our outward trip and we arrived back to our base with lots of memories.
The pupils’ beautiful manners and gratitude made it a most rewarding day for all.
