Engineer's Week

During Engineer's week, third and fourth classes attended Sligo I.T. for a very informative and enjoyable lecture titled, 'Superhero Powers'.  A scientist from 'Science Made Simple' introduced the different types of engineers who work in our community by video link. We learned about the work carried out by a civil engineer, an environmental engineer, a mechanical engineer and many more.  She then performed experiments with the children's help, which showcased the different powers that superheroes have.  They included flight, strength, laser beams, night vision and a crash test.  We wish to thank the I.T. for inviting us to celebrate Engineer's Week with them. Many children  from third and fourth classes expressed an interest in pursuing a career in Engineering after the event.
